I felt that same magic yesterday while attending the Time to Play 2009 Holiday Showcase and watching as Jim Silver and Chris Byrne announced the Time to Play Holiday 2009 Most Wanted List.
The following toys are predicted to be the most popular and best selling products this season. Get ready to “circle” your favorites!
Mattel; ages 3 years and up; approximate retail price – $11.99 and up
With twelve points of articulation – toy talk for twelve points where the doll moves – this Barbie is unlike any your child has ever seen.
Crayola Crayon Town: Wild Planet; ages 3 years and up; approximate retail price – $9.99 and up
Not only can your children use the crayons to color a scene, but once they are done their crayons actually become part of the scenery and the animals!
Rocky the Robot Truck: Mattel; ages 3 years and up; approximate retail price – $59.99
This clever guy can move, talk, and even “stand up” to interact with your child. He was a favorite of mine!
Candy Land Sweet Celebration Game: Hasbro; ages 4 and up; approximate retail price – $29.99
It’s every parents’ dream – a Candy Land game that can be lengthened…or shortened to meet your needs at the time. It’s great!
Zhu Zhu Pets: Cepia; ages 4 and up; approximate retail price – $7.99 and up
For those of you who want the pet without the fur, these little guys have complete habitats and fun accessories without the sound of a squeaky wheel in the middle of the night.
Bakugan 7-in-1 Maxus Helios:
Spin Master; ages 5 years and up; approximate retail price – $39.99
My son is not old enough yet to play with the Bakugan series, but apparently this is a favorite of little boys everywhere.
Dora’s Explorer Girls: Mattel; ages 5 years and up; approximate retail price – Dora Links: $59.99, Dora Fashion: $19.99
Dora is all grown up! Well, she’s a tween, anyway. I was very impressed with how beautifully Dora was transformed from a little girl to a young lady.
Transformers Movie Constructicon Devastator: Hasbro; ages 5 years and up; approximate retail price: $99.99
I used to play with the original Transformers, so to me, this guy was great!
Battle Strikers: MEGA brand; ages 6 years and up; approximate retail price – $9.99 to $34.99
This game takes the basic idea of battling tops and moves it into the 21st century. If it appears under your child’s tree Christmas morning, be prepared for the husbands to disappear and battle for hours!
Nerf N-Strike Raider Rapid Fire CS-35 Blaster:
Hasbro; ages 6 years and up; approximate retail price – $34.99
It’s the Nerf gun of your childhood only in rapid fire mode – pretty cool!
Printies: Techno Source; ages 6 years and up; approximate retail price – $19.99
Design a stuffed animal – even include your child’s face – print out, tear away the extra paper, stuff, and you’re done! I personally think that this is not only a great holiday gift, but a good birthday party idea for little girls as well.
Air Hogs Switchblade: Spin Master; ages 8 years and up; approximate retail price – $69.99
This is definitely out of my kids’ league, but it was great to see!
Eyeclops Night Vision Goggles: JAKKS Pacific; ages 8 years and up; approximate retail price – $59.99
I’m pretty sure that this is going to be on every dad’s – I mean, boy’s wish list this year.
Girl Gourmet Sweets Candy Jewelry Factory: JAKKS Pacific; ages 8 years and up; approximate retail price – $29.99
My daughter already had one “candy jewelry” themed birthday party and with this fun product, I can see another one in her future!
Lego Star Wars: Lego; ages 8 years and up; approximate retail price – $12.99 and up
This will be my son’s first holiday receiving bigger boy Legos, and I’m sure that the Star Wars line will be in the near future for him. This whole line was great.
The Beatles Rock Band: Harmonix Systems; Rated E for Everyone; Approximate Retail Price – $59.99-$249.99
I actually had a chance to try this out at the Type-A Mom blogging conference and had a wonderful time singing and playing drums.
