Christmas is a time of year that is synonymous with celebrations and food and loved ones, but for many people around the world, everyday struggles such as those for food and clean water still remain no matter what the season. This Christmas, Samaritan’s Purse is asking for your help to improve the lives of these families and lift them out of poverty.
The Samaritan’s Purse gift catalog offers a variety of ways that you can help families who are living in poverty all over the world. Through December 12, Samaritan’s Purse is working to raise $30,000 of gifts in Animals and Agriculture that can provide both nourishment and income sources for impoverished families. For example, a gift of baby chicks costs only $14, but a full grown hen can lay up to 200 eggs per year! That can go a long way toward providing for a family.

Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ.
The story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37) gives a clear picture of God’s desire for us to help those in desperate need wherever we find them.
