Please welcome Shannan Powell, guest posting about her recent experience learning about KFC’s new Li’l Bucket Kids Meals…
Last weekend, my son and I were invited to visit the beautiful city of Louisville, Kentucky and the KFC headquarters to learn about their new Li’l Buckets meals and share with the readers here at Resourceful Mommy. For us, KFC is one of our favorite choices on those busy nights when there are just too many activities going on to get dinner on the table. Thanks to this opportunity, we were able to spend some time behind the scenes at the KFC “White House”, learning a bit about the history of the company and about the changes to the KFC kids’ meals, which launched on March 18th.
With the new Li’l Bucket kids meals, there are a variety of options to choose from, allowing parents and kids to select something beyond the basic nuggets, fries and a soda standard. The meal we were served during our time in the cooking lab included a grilled chicken drumstick, green beans, GoGo squeeZ applesauce, and Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters. This was my son’s first time trying the grilled chicken from KFC, and he said that he preferred it over the fried chicken, which came as surprise to me. Additional chicken choices and sides are also available. Check out all the options on the KFC website and read the complete nutrition and ingredient information. For those who deal with food allergies and sensitivities, KFC also offers an allergies and sensitivities guide. The new options are available now in many areas for $3.99 plus tax. (Pricing and participation may vary)
One of my personal favorite features of the new meals is the surprise under the lid of the buckets. Instead of a small plastic toy, which is the norm for a kids’ meal prize, KFC is including interactive games with each of its new Li’l Bucket kids meals. With our meals, the kids received a fun GoGo squeeZ sticker puzzle which my son really enjoyed. Upcoming partnerships with National Geographic Kids promise even more interactive fun!
Be sure to visit the KFC Li’l Buckets page or scan the QR code on one of the L’il Buckets to enter for your chance to win the KFC Ultimate Playground Experience Sweepstakes. KFC and the GoGo squeeZ Mobile Playground are awarding three families with a mobile playground party, including 4 hours of play, brought right to your town and a catered meal from KFC. Sweepstakes ends April 30th.
That’s not all the playground fun! Five playgrounds across the US that are in need of a facelift will receive makeovers to celebrate the launch of the new L’il Buckets Kids Meals. Now through April 11th, nominate a playground in need in your area and encourage your friends and followers to vote for your submission. You can find complete entry details and rules on the KFC Facebook page.
Travel, meals, accommodations and other travel-related expenses were provided to Shannan by KFC. No other compensation was provided. All opinions are her own.
