I’m Back

After a year away from Resourceful Mommy, I’m back!

I thought about writing some deeply reflective post examining why I left and explaining why I’m back, but quite honestly, the thought of writing that post exhausted me. If the post is too boring to write, it’s surely too boring to read.

So instead, let me show you what I’ve been up to over the past year.

I received my three year chip from Celebrate Recovery where I work on my hurts, habits, and hangups including depression, anxiety, and people pleasing.
I helped launch Celebrate Recovery at my church and led worship each week.
I cheered on my son’s basketball team as they won their second league championship.
I traveled home to Pennsylvania to help my friend say goodbye to her father.
I traveled to Disney with Shannan, who is ALSO BACK! YEAH!
I hiked with my family at the Grand Canyon.
I went horseback riding in Monument Valley.
I was standin’ on the corner in Winslow, Arizona. #suchafinesighttosee
I welcomed a sweet baby to the refugee family my family is walking with.
I planted flowers and pulled weeds. I did more of the latter than the former.
I helped my daughter laugh her way through the transition from middle to high school.
And watched in awe as she danced on pointe.
I helped transform my church into a tropical island for one amazing week.
I relaxed at the beach.
I watched my flower girl get married (!!!!).
I hiked the hard path on my favorite mountain.
I played tourist in my own city and dated my husband.

A year ago today, I did not expect to be here. But now that I’m here, I can’t wait to see where we go next.

Thank you for welcoming me back.

You are one of the first moms I started following when I started blogging years ago. Thanks for not only inspiring me to keep going and thinking positive, but also much appreciation for all you do for others. Welcome back, I can’t wait to read more!

I just discovered your blog because of your book! I have waited a long time to start a blog (I’m 75), but it is something I feel strongly I should do. Your posts that I have read tonight inspire me. thank you for your honesty and your faith.
