Festive Fridays: Father’s Day Fun

Father’s Day is a special day that my family truly enjoys celebrating. Both my father and my husband work so hard throughout the year and are caring, loving men who only want to do their best for their families. Making Father’s Day special for them is something so very important to me, to let them know just how much they are appreciated and loved.

One of my favorite ways to show them how much they are loved is by finding fun, family activities to do together that fit with their personal interests. Here are a few ideas to help you make Father’s Day extra special for the amazing men in your life!

Family Campout – Whether you travel to his favorite campground or just set up tents in the backyard, dads who love spending time in the great outdoors will enjoy the quality time with their family!

Backyard BBQ – Gather up some friends or just make it a fun family night with his favorite steaks and burgers on the grill or roast hot dogs and make S’mores over a fire pit. Whether he loves to play grill master or you let him sit back and relax, it’ll be a delicious Father’s Day!

Mini Golf Outing – While it might not be a day on the PGA tour, golfers will enjoy teaching the little ones in their lives about the finer points of putting  while playing a game or two of mini golf. You could even let him win, since it’s Father’s Day and all.

Video Game Challenge – I know quite a few dads who would love nothing more than an afternoon in front of the TV, vegging out with their favorite snacks and some serious gaming time. Get the whole family in on the action and have a blast together, playing old school favorite.

Day at the Ballpark – Hit up the local pro or semi-pro baseball stadium and cheer on the local team for a fun family outing for Father’s Day. Many offer special promos for dads. Also be on the lookout for fireworks nights on the weekends that some parks host, to make things extra special!
