Easter Gift Guide

Welcome to the first annual Resourceful Mommy Easter Gift Guide!

Somewhere along the way every holiday became about eating massive amounts of chocolate and candy, and this resourceful mommy is trying to take a stand and bring a little moderation to my children’s candy intake! Step one was confiscating all but 5 pieces of candy each at the end of Trick-or-Treat night last year.

No, I’m not a candy scrooge! I allowed the kids to trade in their bags full of uneaten candy in exchange for a cutely wrapped toy, and we donated the candy to the Sunday School.

For many families, Easter is right up there with Halloween when it comes to sweets: jelly beans, chocolate bunnies, chocolate cream eggs…..yum!

But perhaps a better idea is to put a couple of jelly-bean filled eggs in a basket along with a nice toy or two. At our house the Easter bunny leaves a trail of cotton balls everywhere he goes, so you can even hide the toys around your house!

Here are my top picks for this year’s Easter bunny special deliveries…
