I’m sitting here at my computer, poised to write about my favorite Disney memory. And I’m stuck. Asking me to share my favorite Disney memory is like asking me if I prefer dark or milk chocolate. The answer, of course, is yes.
The first memory that comes to mind is when I somehow conned my father into buying me this stuffed Minnie Mouse. I was about six years old and can still remember her sitting on the shelf in the store. In my mind we were the same height, and owning her was magical, magical enough to pose for this picture at Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort.
My next thought is of the first time we took our own children to Walt Disney World when they were two and a half and nearly five years old. We stayed at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort and took the boat to the Magic Kingdom. Because my dad said it was tradition, we headed straight to It’s a Small World, and this was the face of my son for the entire experience from the line to the boarding of the boat to the white room at the end…totally mesmerized…
Or how about the time that I ran away from home with the kids while my husband was on a business trip, and we ate Mickey Ice Cream Bars at 10:00 at night and watched Monsters, Inc. by the pool, wrapped up in towels to fight the cool January nights?
The dance party after my first 5K on the 40th anniversary of the park opening…
The rainbow over Fantasyland…
My very first trip to Walt Disney World, my best friend Bun-Bun in my arms…
For me, there is no way to choose just one favorite Disney Memory, and hopefully for one of you, there will be an opportunity to make your own Disney memories!
Good luck!
