Young Living Thieves Kit Giveaway

Let me begin by admitting that I have never liked the idea of taking medicine for every little ache and pain. The irony of this is that both my mother and brother are family physicians, so I’ve grown up with a little more understanding of the medical world and pharmaceuticals than the average person. Even so, I’ve always tried to find ways to avoid visiting the doctor – and taking my kids – unless it’s absolutely necessary.

The problem with getting older, however, is that “every little ache and pain” becomes a more common occurrence.

What made me take the leap was a cold that lingered and finally settled in my chest. My throat was on fire, my congested head throbbed, and I had a cough that kept me up all night. I didn’t have a fever, and I knew that it was most likely viral, needing to just run its course. But the lack of sleep and the discomfort was more than I could tolerate. I began a regimen that started with nightly baths soaking in epsom salts with Thieves, Lavender, and Lemon and ended with Thieves diffusing next to my bed. Not only did I sleep better, but I felt better. A little lemon in my water each day also soothed, and the occasional Thieves and Peppermint warm compress on my chest helped my breathing and my comfort. That’s it. I was hooked.

I’m still in the beginning stages of my own oily journey, but turning to essential oils first has already become my default. A couple months ago I had two skin biopsies to test for melanoma, and one site became slightly infected. Not wanting to run to the doctor for antibiotics, I began by applying Young Living Lavender directly to the site, and not only did it soothe the painful incision, but the infection cleared up immediately. Just last week I was in a car accident and have been experiencing muscle pain from slamming on the brakes. I know that I wasn’t seriously injured and a visit to the doctor wasn’t warranted, but tight muscles can be incredibly painful! After a restless night I decided to try a massage with Pan Away in coconut oil as well as an epsom salt bath with Pan Away and Peppermint. The oils took my pain from a sleep-robbing 8 to a 4 or 5, allowing my muscles – and me – to get some rest.
