Tom’s of Maine Silly Strawberry Swap – Giveaway

My family is always up for something new from fun recipes to rides at our favorite theme park, so I jumped at the chance to participate in the Silly Strawberry Swap Blogger Challenge.  What was the challenge?  We were asked to swap the sparkle for the strawberry! We switched out our regular children’s toothpaste this month for Tom’s of Maine with fluoride.

My kids are big fans of toothbrushing.  Maybe it’s the stories I’ve told them about cavities, or perhaps the fun toothbrushes (they’ve got a collection!), but whatever it is, we don’t have to fight with them to brush their teeth like many parents must do.  They are also very particular about their toothpaste. For a few months my son refused to use the same toothpaste that my daughter loved, so we were never without two varieties of toothpaste.  I was a little worried about what they would think of Tom’s of Maine’s natural fluoride toothpaste…but they loved it!  I love that the Silly Strawberry toothpaste is natural, they love the not-too-overwhelming strawberry flavor, and nobody missed the sparkle.

For those of you whose children do not go willingly to brush their teeth each morning and night, try these tips from!

1. Make it fun! Engage your kids in the activity to make brushing their teeth a fun activity and not a chore.

2. Brush along with your kids to show them how much fun it can be!

3. Allow your children to brush your teeth and then allow them to try to brush their own teeth.  Follow up by brushing their teeth correctly.

4. Have your child brush their favorite doll’s teeth before you brush theirs.

5. Use only a pea-size amount of toothpaste on their toothbrush as larger amounts tend to create excessive foam making it more difficult for your child to brush.

6. Make sure your child gets in the habit of spitting out the toothpaste. Most kids love that part!
