Survey Saturday – Disney Movies

Last weekend we debuted Survey Saturday with this question: “Which Walt Disney World theme park is your favorite?”  It’s time for the results!

Magic Kingdom = 56%

EPCOT = 26%

Hollywood Studios = 13%

Animal Kingdom = 5%

Today’s survey is about Disney movies…do you have a favorite?  There are many movies I remember from my own childhood, especially the rebirth of Disney animated movies during my teenage years with the now classic The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King. My children’s first experience with Disney movies came two summers ago.  We had spent the afternoon at a town festival and while we knew our kids, then ages four and two, were not going to stay awake for the fireworks, we didn’t want the festivities to end.  We stopped at a video rental store on the way home and picked up Cinderella. I knew that my daughter at four and a half would be able to sit for the entire movie, her first time watching a movie, but I doubted that my two year old son would enjoy it.  We gave it a try anyway, and both kids were mesmerized for the entire film.  My son giggled like I never saw before when the mice sang, and my daughter cheered when Cinderella married the prince.  After that experience, we were hooked.  My kids love the animated movies – be it the old classics Snow White and Cinderella or the more recent films – as well as classics such as Mary Poppins or Pixar films. My daughter’s first experience seeing a movie in a theater was Disney’s The Princess and the Frog last winter, and my son’s first movie theater experience came this summer when the entire family went to see Toy Story 3. Now it’s your turn to weigh in…

  • What a tough call. Each movie is unique in their own way and special. Love Toy Story movies since I have bonded watching them with my boys. TS3 was the first movie in a theater for my just three year old son. Still, if I had to pick an all time favorite, it would likely be Beauty and the Beast.

  • I can’t just pick one Disney movie. However, I did enter an “other” on the poll (The Hunchback of Notre Dame).
    Although there are many, many Disney movies that I love here are a few of my favorites:
    Lady and the Tramp
    Beauty and the Beast
    The Hunchback of Notre Dame
    Mary Poppins
    Toy Story
    Finding Nemo
    The Brave Little Toaster
    Cinderella
    Pirates of the Carribbean
    ugg…this list is getting too long!
