I’m feeling introspective and yet uncharacteristically short-winded in this week leading up to back-to-school. Today I’m thinking not just about the things I want to do with the kids in their final days {hours} of summer, but also what I’d like to do in the time I hope to have left here on this earth. This list is just for me. This does not include watching my children get married, taking my daughter to Germany to track down our relatives, or teaching my son how to drive. Today it’s all about me. I’m not promising that this is all-inclusive, so unlike that other list – you know…that list – I am giving myself permission to add to this.
- Learn to play the guitar.
- Return to London for an extended visit.
- Restore a classic car.
- Own {and ride} a motorcycle.
- Attend an Olympic event.
- Learn to speak Spanish. Okay, learn to understand more Spanish then what I’ve picked up from Dora and Diego.
- Visit the Mediterranean.
- See the Alhambra.
- Own a decent camera and know how to use it.
- Complete a triathlon, even a wimpy one.
- Perform stand-up.
- Visit Haworth, England.
- Write a book and have it published.
- Cook an amazing meal for a large group of people entirely from scratch.
- Own and restore a farmhouse.
What is on your bucket list?
