Last week my husband and I did something that we very rarely do – we took vacation at the same time. When he travels for work, I hold down the fort at home and likewise, when I travel for work, he telecommutes, taking over my daily tasks of getting the kids ready for school and home in the afternoon. But last week for the first time since our seven year old was two, we went away together for more than twenty-four hours.
When we told friends and family that we chose Walt Disney World as the place to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary, we definitely faced some jokes and confused looks. Not everyone understands the romantic side to Disney. As it turns out, the weekend was exactly what we needed. There were so many wonderful moments in our weekend away at Walt Disney World from riding Thunder Mountain back to back at nearly one a.m. to floating on the current at Stormalong Bay, but the most magical night was our first night there.
When I planned our anniversary trip to Walt Disney World I knew it would be wonderful, but I had no idea how magical Disney truly is even when you’re enjoying it kid-free.
