Twitter parties are a great excuse to get together and swap ideas and stories. But as we all know, social media can also be used to bring people together, in the name of a great cause or campaign! We’ve seen the impact that Moms have made on so many important issues, which is why we’re so excited to invite you to a twitter event to discuss a topic that affects families everywhere-underage drinking.
Join us for an eye-opening Twitter discussion to bring awareness to PowerTalk 21™, the national day for parents to start talking with their kids about alcohol, sponsored by our friends at MADD and Family Circle.
Date: Wednesday, April 13th
Time: 8 p.m.- 9 p.m. EST
Location: #PowerTalk21
Host: @MomTalkRadio (Maria Bailey, Founder of MomSelect)
The statistics are staggering; teen alcohol use kills about 6,000 people each year, more than all illegal drugs combined. It’s easy to see why MADD has made it their mission to provide kids with strategies to avoid alcohol.
However, they know that they can’t do it alone. They rely on parents like us to educate our children on the dangers of drinking alcohol. That’s why they are declaring April 21st PowerTalk 21™ and kicking off the movement with events and workshops in cities across the country, all equipping parents with the tools to start this potentially life-saving conversation.
We want to make sure the conversation starts even earlier, which is why we’re hosting this valuable discussion. Join us to learn more about how you can help further MADD’s life-saving work! As a thank you for spending your evening with us, we’ll be giving away 5 $20 gift cards during the party.
