I’m Your Bus Review and Giveaway

As a former English teacher and self-proclaimed book collector (hoarder), I’ve recently decided to reach out to authors and agencies representing publishing companies to bring the Resourceful Mommy readers not only more information about worthy new books, but more book giveaways as well. This I’m Your Bus (by Marilyn Singer) review and giveaway will hopefully be one of many great opportunities to build your home library!

My first take on I’m Your Bus: The size of the book is fabulous for small hands and the pictures are just delicious. I love large, glossy images and my children do as well, so this book really hits the spot.
Upon delving in…: We’re getting ready for back to school -the first child headed to kindergarten! – so following the life of a school bus is perfect. The rhyming text is also very well written and was enjoyable not only to my three and five year old children, but was also fun to read!

This book is for you if…you’ve got a little one in your house who loves anything on wheels! This is also great for emerging readers because the wonderful rhymes help children use the words they’ve “memorized” as a context to learn surrounding sight words.

This book is not for you if…your children are quite a bit older than mine – upper elementary school and beyond. I’m Your Bus is a picture book that is geared to the pre-school/lower elementary set.

Synopsis: Get ready for a rip-roaring, rhyming ride that celebrates all things drivin’ with a special spotlight on a kid’s four-wheeled best buddy–his school bus! When you’re a kid, your school bus can be your very best friend. Morning, noon, and nighttime, too, that golden buddy is at your service. Ready to drive you and your friends to and from school!
