Green Dessert Holiday Traditions and Recipe

This post is sponsored by P&G, but the opinions expressed are my own.

Thanksgiving kicks off the holiday season in our family. I’ve always found it comforting that each year we begin the holiday gathered around a table as a family, sharing our gratitude over a meal we all worked hard to prepare. It’s the perfect pause to set our hearts on Christmas, when our focus shifts to family, friends, and helping others.

From now until the new year we will be busy setting out decorations, baking our favorite holiday treats, buying and wrapping gifts, attending parties, church services, teas, and enjoying all the merriment that accompanies this magical time of year.

Favorite Family Recipe

One of our favorite family treats to make during any occasion is “Green Dessert”. It’s an extremely versatile recipe that can be enjoyed any time of year. But, we tend to make it during the holidays because we know everyone devours it. Plus, it’s green – so the color scheme works with the season.

This year, our family was so full from Thanksgiving dinner that we barely made a dent in our desserts. I was secretly thrilled, and didn’t even offer to share the leftovers. (So much for preparing my heart for a season focused on others!) Instead, I wrapped my Green Dessert back up in its container and took it straight home where I will savor every last bit of it over the next few days… if I can keep it away from my teenagers.

Here is the recipe, if you’d like to enjoy it with your family this holiday season.

Healthy Holidays

During Thanksgiving and Christmas we tend to give ourselves permission to indulge more than throughout the rest of the year. As a mom, I’m hyper-aware of the additional sugar intake our family enjoys throughout the holidays. I make a few efforts to offset this by ensuring we have the appropriate tools to keep our teeth and gums healthy, despite the treats and sweets we consume.

Good Oral Health

Our family uses Crest products to help us maintain good oral health. Crest Pro-Health helps protect the areas dentists check most, promoting healthier gums and stronger teeth. This weekend is a great time to stock on Crest Pro-Health at your local Walmart store. Look for the $2 coupon in your Sunday newspaper.

Whether you’re enjoying a favorite family recipe, or trying something new at one of your holiday events, Crest has you covered as you take extra precautions to care for your teeth and gums. I hope you all enjoy this wonderful season!
