8 Days of Giveaways: Day 7 ALL HEART Family Cookbook

As many of you know, women’s heart disease is a concern of mine because of my own health and a history of heart disease on both sides of my family, including in women. Heart disease is the number one cause of death for women in the U.S. Please take a moment and thoughtfully consider your own health and these risk factors:

  • Family history of coronary artery disease or stroke
  • Age 55 or older
  • Post-menopausal
  • Family history of premature cardiac disease (under age 60), especially in a sibling or parent
  • Obesity
  • Sedentary lifestyle (ummmm…you’re at a computer right now, ladies!)
  • Smoking
  • Hypertension
  • High over all cholesterol
  • Low HDL cholesterol
  • Diabetes
  • Metabolic syndrome
  • Increased CRP
  • Use of birth control pills, especially if you smoke
  • Complicated pregnancy

I take a look at that list and I see that I can check off a few of those factors….and I’m only 31!

Let’s take today to not only give away a fun prize, but also think seriously about our own heart health.

And now to the goodies 🙂

Sara Lee is partnering with The Heart Truth Campaign to raise awareness of heart disease among women and encourage them to make heart healthy choices every day. One of the best things a mom can do for her family is to take care of herself!

To support the campaign, Sara Lee Fresh Bakery is offering heart healthy sandwich recipes in the WomenHeart’s ALL HEART Family Cookbook and will contribute one dollar for every cookbook ordered up to $35,000 to the National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease.

I was lucky enough to receive a copy of this cookbook and it is not only easy on the eye, but easy on the heart.

To enter to win, please fill out this entry form.

This contest is open to all U.S. residents and ends Wednesday, April 15th.
