Compassion International Nicaragua Twitter Party

A message from Shaun Groves, Compassion International:

Five years ago the first bunch of Compassion Bloggers stepped off a plane in Uganda. Jet-lagged, nervous, battling bats and a dial-up internet connection, they used their collective online voice to speak for Compassion’s children. Hundreds were sponsored.

And Compassion said, “Let’s do that again!”

So we did. Nine more times.

And along the way we added more than 2500 bloggers to our team – what we call the Compassion Bloggers Network – who follow your example and write on Compassion’s behalf monthly.

More than 6,000 children have been sponsored because of Compassion Bloggers in the last 5 years! And countless more readers have had their perspective and hearts changed by God through your words along the way.

Next week we embark on our eleventh Compassion Bloggers trip! We’ll be blogging from Nicaragua June 18-22. (You can go here to follow along and here to grab some promotional tools.) Please pray for our group as we travel. And, of course, you know to pray even harder when we return home.

Thank you for all you’ve done and do for Compassion’s children. It’s an honor to serve alongside you. Here’s to five more life-changing years together!

Please join me as we tweet with Shaun and the blogging team live from Nicaragua next week.  I have been in their shoes, and I remember vividly the overwhelming desire to find sponsors for children right then, right there.  Let’s help amplify their message and reach more people to transform more lives.  I hope you’ll tweet with me at the…
