Raise Your Hand 4 Milk This Wednesday!
For all of you moms out there worried about what your kids should or shouldn’t be drinking at home or at school, I’m hoping my next Twitter party will help clear some things up!
Raise Your Hand 4 Milk
You may have seen some talk in the news recently about the “battle” over school lunch – everyone’s got their own idea about what meal strikes the right nutritional balance. One lunch line item that’s been much debated is lowfat chocolate milk. Some schools are removing it in an effort to improve the nutritional quality of their meals. Although well-intended, the consequence is that students at these schools are consuming less milk at a time when they need the nutrients found in milk the most.
I’m excited to have a registered dietitian working with the Raise Your Hand 4 Milk campaign to share the facts and the science around chocolate milk and its place on the school lunch menu. You can learn more about the campaign at http://www.raiseyourhand4milk.com/ (or follow @4chocolatemilk).
Join us at 8:00 p.m. ET this Wednesday on Twitter as we kick off an interesting discussion about what beverages are right for your kids’ health. And as always, we’ve got some cool swag you can win!
