The California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB), an instrumentality of the California Department of Food and Agriculture, is funded by the state’s 1,500+ dairy families. With headquarters in South San Francisco and Modesto, the CMAB is one of the largest commodity boards in the United States. The CMAB executes advertising, public relations, research, and retail and food service promotional programs on behalf of California dairy products, including Real California Milk and Real California Cheese.
The CMAB was formed in 1969 to promote California dairy products in an ever-growing and competitive marketplace. It operates on the principle that a healthy dairy industry is just as important to consumers as it is to milk producers, and that the ready availability of California dairy products contributes to the good health and well-being of the state’s population.
Ashley was brought up around the importance of family meals and all of her special childhood memories seem to be centered on delicious food and cooking experiences. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Nutrition she became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist so she could help others optimize their health while still savoring the important role food plays beyond health and nutrition. As a wife and mom of a preschool son and infant daughter, family meals, like taco night, continue to be a focus in her life.
Ashley shares her passion for nutrition and health with consumers and health professionals as Dairy Council of California’s Manager of Policy and Opinion Leader Relations.
Also recognized as Dairy Council of California’s resident foodie, Ashley loves to cook and entertain with great meals, including secret family recipes like her grandmother’s Chicken and Dumplins’.
