Card Showers from Hallmark – A Giveaway

I grew up in one of those small towns where the local newspaper prints children’s birthdays…even if those children live eight states away and their grandparents happen to be local.  Personal events were news, and the whole community liked to support one another through life’s milestones.  For this reason I often read notes letting the town know that a couple was celebrating a 50th anniversary, an 80th birthday, a retirement after 45 years of service, and a card shower was being organized.  Rather than have a party or send a gift, people were asked to each send the recipient a card, showering them with love and congratulations at this important time in their life.

I always assumed that card showers were one of those lovely little things that are uniquely small town, but then I learned about the new Card Shower service from Hallmark.  I have long been a Hallmark addict fan loving everything from their holiday ornaments to their incredibly clever cards for kids, but Card Showers get right to that goosebumps part of my heart.  They feel like home!  This new online service from Hallmark is the first of its kind, helping people organize and track card showers.  Here’s how it works:

  • Go to hallmark.com/cardshowers and create a Card Shower event.
  • Invite friends and family through email or Facebook and specify the date you’d like the honoree to receive her shower of cards.
  • Participants respond to the invitation, buy a card on Hallmark.com or in the store and send their cards.  They also can invite additional contacts, increasing the size of the card shower.
  • The honoree then receives a shower of cards!

Through the Hallmark Card Shower service from Hallmark, you are also able to set up reminders and track card sending online.
