Most of the trees in the regional park I walk through each morning are covered in bright green, new leaves, but occasionally I see these trees, their white flowers shocking among all of the brown and green of the spring forest. I’m hoping that one of my readers can tell me what they are!

Look like Dogwoods to me, beautiful picture!
Thank you! They seem so out of place back there, but they’re beautiful.
It is a native dogwood 🙂 The store-bought varieties are much more “prim and proper” but I love these white splashes in the forest – very graceful. Ours are just about done blooming down here in Atlanta.
It is so startling to see them winding around here and there. I don’t think we have them in the forests in Pennsylvania where I grew up. I also love the magnolias I see everywhere here in Maryland!
Have no idea what type of tree that is, but it’s just lovely! Great Shot Amy! Our Wordless Wednesday is Disney Themed. YAY! (We linked to you too!) We are getting ready for DSMMoms and cannot wait to meet you! Have a great week! xo, Jessica & Becky
Amy, those are Dogwoods! I lived in Northern Virginia for several years and still remember how taken by them I was each early spring when they would show up before the leaves started appearing — almost like they are floating on air. Dogwood is the state “flower” of Virginia by the way 🙂
