The Approaching Storm

I have four posts I intended to write today. To be honest, three of them I intended to write earlier this week, but the unexpected earthquake and subsequent clean-up in my house left me feeling discombobulated and unproductive.  Then yesterday the reality of my baby going to kindergarten hit me like a ton of bricks when we went to the school and saw his class list.  Now today I’m waking up to the reality that my best friend’s not terribly secure home is directly in the path of what will likely be a Category 2 hurricane, and I desperately want her to pack her family up and drive three hours west to me. So am I writing these blog posts today?

Nope, I’m going to ready my house for the approaching storm: the tropical storm warning that we’re under, the impending power outages, the visitors with an indefinite stay, the first day of school.

When the storm passes I will post giveaways that will make your head spin ($500 gift card? what!?), but today, it’s my head that is spinning and I need to prepare for the storm.  Thank you for understanding.

Sometimes, we have to put our family before work. And you Ms. Amy definitely deserve to do so. Praying that this storm doesn’t do damage!

Prayers for your safety and for Shannan’s community, friends, and property too ~ it is awesome that she has you to stay with ~ that part is as daunting as taking care of everything at home. Good luck to your little man on Monday ~ you may be surprised and get a bonus day after all starting later in the week so folks can get reorganized. Big hug friend!

When Isabelle came through in ’03 we didn’t have school for days. Remember that craziness? I’m thinking first day of school on Monday is looking less and less likely…

I feel fairly secure in saying that “Real Life Comes First!” not that blogging isn’t real, but we all want you to stay safe and secure with the impending storm. We’ll all still be here for you when you get back in the swing again. Hang in there, keep everyone safe, you’ll be in our thoughts and prayers.

Having spent my entire childhood battening down the hatches for hurricanes (hey! south Louisiana!), I’m sending out lots of prayers for all of you on the East Coast. Take care of yourself and your family.

Take care of yourself, your family, and Shannan’s family. We’re praying for all of you in Irene’s path. I’ve weathered enough storms here in Florida to know what you are dealing with. Love you!

Yikes, Amy! You’ve definitely got your plate full this week, thanks to Mother Nature. I’ll keep you & the rest of the East Coast folks in my prayers. I hope Mother Nature decides to take a sudden vacation.
