Old Navy $100 Gift Card Giveaway

If there’s one thing I love, it’s a challenge, especially when it comes to shopping. My mom and I used to hit the sales racks together spending hours sorting through piles hoping to find the best deal on the items we loved.  After a long day of shopping we’d return home, cut the tags, and grab the calculators.  Our goal?  Save more than we spent.

Resourceful Shopping is still my favorite way to shop for clothing for my family – printing coupons, hitting sales events, and taking my time looking through the clearance racks. To get the most bang for your buck, you’ve got to be patient and research ahead of time, but the pay-off can be huge.

Today I headed to Old Navy to hit the Baby Sale going on now through 9/23.  My little man wears a 4T and it was time to stock up on long-sleeved shirts for the fall.  With my $100 gift card in hand (thank you, Old Navy!), I set out to buy as many fashionable and fun items for my son as I could for $100.  So how did I do?

By shopping during this sale with the lowest prices of the season, I was able to buy these 15 items (ARV: $166.43) for $100.69!

I was especially excited about some of the long-sleeved graphic tees (my little guy loves the shirt with the drums!) as well as the very fashion-forward purple tops for boys. Purple happens to be his favorite color, so it was nice that he finally has some purple of his own.  I was also impressed with the inclusion of khakis, jeans, and cords in the sale and stocked up on a pair of each.  Check out some of my favorites…

Are you ready to take the Resourceful Shopping challenge?

One lucky reader will receive a $100 Old Navy shopping spree, but everyone can save now by printing out the 30% off one item coupon and shopping the Old Navy Baby Sale (ends 9/23)!

I like to shop the end of season sales when they are dirt cheap [like when summer clothes are on sale in Sept and Oct and you can’t even wear them until next Summer sale]. You can stock up on staples for next years season.

For kids I do sales research and use coupons and I love to shop at places like zuilly.com and minisocial.com and those kind of discount sales sites.

Hope I win! We could really use this! *crossing fingers*

Buy just about anything you want, at 50% off on ebay

I try to buy at the end of the season for the next year, so I buy a size or 2 bigger and store it until the next year. Also, I look for coupons online or in the paper.

My best money-saving tip: Use cash. If you use plastic, you’ll have more available than you plan to spend. You’ll go over budget every time.

I only look for sales at stores. I purchase my beauty products at Walmart and an online discount store. I take advantage of local discount stores too.

Thanks for the chance to win.

My tips are to always check the sales ads for the current week to compare prices. Also make sure you have coupons to use so you can even save more money if the item is on sale. And most important tip of all try to stay on budget so you don’t go over and you’ll have everything you wanted to purchase. Never forget to check the clearance sections on stores b/c you might find something you like and at a great price too.

Check the weekly ads and don’t be shy about asking if a particular item is scheduled to go on sale soon.

Definitely wait to buy things when you have a coupon. S sale is a sale but when you have a coupon and can maybe combine it with that sale? Perfection! Patience is a virtue… Also, make a list. And stick to it! No impulse buying!

I like to combine sales, coupons, and free shipping to score great deals. I also like to shop garage sales you never what you might find and get some great excersize!

The thing I found most helpful for saving money on clothing is to not take my kids with me. I can find sale items that they like if I bring them home – but if they are with me it always costs me more.
