I was going to write a post about the loved ones I have lost to cancer. I thought maybe I’d write about my own terrifying fear of melanoma. But the truth is that cancer has touched every single person reading this post. You don’t need my story. You have your own.
Every day cancer kills 1,500 Americans – one person every minute. 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will get some form of cancer in their lifetimes.
Those stats are worth reading again. Go ahead. I’ll wait.
Tonight at 8 p.m. ET there will be a multi-network broadcast of Stand Up To Cancer and just as the networks broadcasting the event have donated there air time, I am donating my space on this blog to spread the word.
Stand Up To Cancer is an initiative created to accelerate groundbreaking cancer research that will get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives. SU2C’s goal is to bring together the best and the brightest in the cancer community, encouraging collaboration instead of competition.
